Eldany Charitable Foundation defends the rights of children and young people with disabilities and offers art therapy, a youth employment service and other forms of support to help integrate them into society.
'The Eldany philosophy' insists that people with disabilities can contribute to society, not simply rely on charity.
The organisation has evolved from a group of concerned parents of children with disabilities into a nationally recognised advocate for children and young people living with disabilities.
Eldany plans to use the award funding to establish a 'Hand Made Café', a place where all families can gather to make crafts and eat healthy food. Children with and without disabilities will be able to play and develop together, and Eldany hopes that it will encourage kindness, tolerance, patience and understanding amongst Kazakhstan's youth.
